A golf break for parents
A few hours on the green, whilst the children are well looked after at Kids Club — that’s how a family holiday can also become a personal break.
Whilst the children explore the Trebesingerhof Water World, Kids Club and the gardens, adults can enjoy some time to themselves on the golf course.

What’s in store for you this summer —
Gentle alpine pastures, rounded peaks — hiking for families
Right on your doorstep. Gentle alpine slopes, cows with bells, no fear of heights — many of the paths are suitable for pushchairs.
The Nockalmstraße — one of Carinthia’s most scenic routes. There are plenty of alpine huts along the way where you can stop for a bite to eat whilst enjoying views of the meadows.
Carinthia’s deepest lake, as warm as a bath in July
The nearest swimming lake. Around 12 km long, with water of drinking quality, and pleasantly warm in the height of summer. Boat trips, stand-up paddleboarding, pedalos.
Beach resorts in Millstatt, Seeboden and Döbriach — all with gentle slopes for children. Free boat trips and access to the beach resorts with the KCard.
Austria’s highest mountain, one of the most beautiful mountain roads in the world
The famous panoramic road leading up to the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe. Marmots, viewing platforms and the Pasterze Glacier right before your eyes.
Set off early — the approach to the toll booth gets congested quickly on fine days. Head for the Edelweißspitze for panoramic views in all directions.
Valley of the Plunging Waters — Waterfalls, reservoir, climbing
Between the Hohe Tauern and the Reißeck Group. A high-altitude alpine reservoir with turquoise water; the Fallbachfall (Austria’s highest waterfall in terms of free-fall height).
On hot days, carry on up to the Kölnbreinsperre — up there, the mountain air is much cooler than down in the valley.
Heading down into the mine — perfect even in the rain
Take the mine train deep into the mountain. Put on your helmet, switch on your lamp — experience a slice of mining history up close. It’s cool inside all year round — do bring a jacket.
Give them a call in advance — the guided tours are often fully booked in summer. In Hüttenberg, the Heinrich Harrer Museum is right on the way home.
Local animals, petting zoo, maze
Native and exotic animals, a petting zoo with goats and sheep, and a large hedge maze. Rosegg Castle is right next door.
Combine this with a trip to Lake Wörthersee — after the zoo, head to the lido in Velden, about 15 minutes further on.
A fairytale castle perched on a rock — 14 gates, 100 metres high
One of Austria’s most beautiful castles. 14 historic gates, an inclined lift for families with pushchairs. Castle museum with armoury.
Have something to eat before you start the climb — the walk through the 14 gates takes a while.
Bad Kleinkirchheim — a real gem when the weather’s bad
A spa with a family pool, slides and a toddlers’ area. Separate sauna area for adults. Open all year round.
The perfect Plan B for rainy days — a family favourite here, even in winter.
Snakes, scorpions, crocodiles — all behind glass
Reptiles from all over the world — snakes, crocodiles, spiders, scorpions. Not suitable for very young children, but a real highlight for those aged 6 and over.
Right next door is Minimundus, with miniature versions of famous buildings. It’s a great place to visit as part of the same trip.
Japanese macaques up close, glass-free enclosure
A whole group of Japanese macaques lives in the wild in a woodland enclosure. Guided tours with keepers are available, and right next door is the Burg Landskron Eagle Arena.
Go in the morning — that’s when the monkeys are more active. It’s best to leave snacks and glittery jewellery in the car.
Local mountain overlooking Millstätter See — cycling, walking, and a ski resort in winter
In summer: mountain biking, hiking and the Family Panoramic Trail. In winter: a family-friendly ski resort with lifts for beginners. Views of the Millstätter See.
Free access to the mountain railway with the KCard — perfect for a relaxing half-day trip with stunning views.
Through the woods with a llama or an alpaca
Guided walks with llamas and alpacas in the Mölltal valley. Each child leads their own animal. Booking required.

High ropes course at Lake Ossiach — 12 courses
Courses for various levels of difficulty. Mini-courses for younger children, highline stations for the brave. In the woods, so it’s shady.
Book in advance — queues are long at the weekend. If you’ve still got some energy left, Bodensdorf Lido is right next door.
